Physical stressors: can be caused by but not limited to: pushing your body to it's limits; over working out at the gym; not getting enough sleep; running in the office "fun run" fund raiser; driving long distances without taking enough rest breaks.

Mental stressors: can be caused by but not limited to: unemployment; under-employment; over-employment (more than 1 job); trying to achieve; taking exams; anguish over uncompleted projects; financial worries.

Levels of Stress

Level 1: starts off as tiredness and develops into irritability, leading to headaches & insomnia, but is not limited to just these sypmtoms

Level 2: depression, anxiety, muscular pain, chronic aches, persistent infections, guilt, apathy, helplessness

Level 3: persecution complex, agoraphobia (abnormal & persistent fear of public or open areas; especially where it appears difficult to escape in the case of an emergency); panic attacks, claustrophobia, despair, increasing guilt & depression, more susceptible to viral & bacterial infections

Level 4: at this point, the body is "crying out" for HELP! Unexplained pain, heart problems, strokes, and high blood pressure might be experienced along with various dis-eases that are thought to have their roots in stress such as: ulcers, chronic pain, & arthritis. Stress can even have a negative effect on your immune system causing it to begin to break down leading to all manner of physical problems.
